Ever since Donald John Trump won the Presidential election in November of 2016, a wide assortment of white nationalists, Islamophobes, bigots, and neo-fascist candidates has crawled out of America's darkest corners and declared their candidacies for political office at the local, state, and federal levels.
Many of these Trump-coattail candidates never get splashy headlines unless they are openly supportive of far-right groups like the American Nazi Party, such as Chicago's Arthur Jones, who (per reports by CBS News), has declared his intention to challenge Democratic Congressman Dan Lipinski in the upcoming 2020 general election cycle:
Self-avowed Nazi and Holocaust denier Arthur Jones is making another bid for Congress, two years after getting 26% of the vote in his failed bid against U.S. Rep Dan Lipinski.
Jones, of Lyons, has filed nominating petitions to run as a Republican in the 3rd congressional district in 2020, but unlike his previous attempts to defeat Lipinski, this time he’s not the only Republican in the race.
Will County Board Member Mike Fricilone, of Homer Glen, also has filed nominating petitions to get on the ballot in the Republican primary.
Despite admitting he was once a member of the American Nazi Party and remains a denier of the Holocaust, Jones got 57,885 votes in 2018 when he ran against Lipinski.
Not to be outdone in sheer crassness and chutzpah, in not-so-far-away-from Illinois Minnesota, another creepy right-wing nutjob is hoping to unseat Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar from Minneapolis' Fifth Congressional District, but not without making waves of her own.
31-year-old Danielle Stella, whose real name is Danielle Marie Sheridan, has been in the news lately, and not in a good way.
Apparently, Stella/Sheridan has been running afoul of the law in her home state of Minnesota throughout parts of 2019.
First, per the British newspaper The Guardian, Stella has been arrested several times this year. She has been accused of shoplifting and driving under the influence.
According to The Guardian and Minnesota court records, Stella was last arrested for shoplifting last summer after she allegedly stole $2,300 in goods from a Target store and $40 worth of cat food from a grocery store.

A pro-Trump Republican candidate for Congress who is aiming to unseat Ilhan Omar in Minnesota has been charged with a felony after allegedly stealing from stores.
Danielle Stella was arrested twice this year in Minneapolis suburbs over allegations that she shoplifted items worth more than $2,300 from a Target and goods valued at $40 from a grocery store. She said she denied the allegations.
Stella, a 31-year-old special education teacher, was reported this week to be a supporter of the baseless “QAnon” conspiracy theory about Donald Trump battling a global cabal of elite liberal paedophiles.
This week Stella also described Minneapolis as “the crime capital of our country”. She has in the past complained that local police were “overworked and overburdened” and said that, if elected, she would work to reduce crime.
In a series of text messages, Stella said: “I am not guilty of these crimes. In this country I am innocent until proven guilty and that is the law.”
She added: “If I was guilty of crimes, I would never run for public office, putting myself in the public eye under a microscope to be attacked by all political sides.”
Stella had been scheduled to appear at an October 31 court hearing before Judge Luis Bartolomei, but she was a no-show. An arrest warrant has been issued, but Stella is evading the authorities even as she takes to social media to make her case to her right-wing supporters.
And even there, Stella is not doing too well. Last week, she was banned from Twitter after falsely accusing Omar of collaborating with Iran and passing classified information to that country's government.
Per the news-and-politics website Vox:
Twitter suspended the account of one of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Republican challengers, Trump-aligned Danielle Stella, after she tweeted about hanging the Minnesota congresswoman.
Stella is running for Omar’s seat in the House of Representatives, and her campaign account (@2020MNCongress) tweeted on Tuesday: “If it is proven @IlhanMN passed sensitive info to Iran, she should be tried for #treason and hanged,” according to The Washington Times, which first broke the news of the suspension. She then tweeted out a link to a conspiracy theory alleging Omar gave that country sensitive information, along with an image of a stick figure being hanged.
The conspiracy theory that Omar was recruited by Qatari officials to pass on classified information to Qatar and Iran is backed by zero evidence. The congresswoman has denied these accusations and called them “outlandishly absurd.” Nevertheless, the theory continues to be spread.

Stella, for her part, shows no contrition for her actions on Twitter. In fact, she doubled down on her attacks against Omar, who is one of the first Muslim women to be elected to Congress. Per a post on her Facebook account:
There are MANY hypocrites rage posting here. Breathe, think this through, logically.
To clarify, I said, "If it is proven ____ passed sensitive info to Iran, she should be tried for #treason and hanged". Treason is the only thing mentioned in the constitution for the death penalty, punishable by hanging or firing squad. I believe all involved should be thoroughly investigated. I did not threaten anyone. If you are calling it a threat- you believe that individual is guilty, and therefore it is not a threat, it's treason. You and the fake news #MSM are lying by calling it Iynch ing or terroristic threats.
I believe all traitors to our Country need to be tried for their many crimes. I've been outspoken about HRC crime family, BH0, S0R0S and others as well.
You are making this into something it's not.
