What do some Star Wars fans have against Gray Jedi?
Grey Jedi do not exist in the Star Wars canon.
They did not exist in the canon prior to 2012, the year that George Lucas decided to retire and sell his company, Lucasfilm Ltd., and all of its intellectual properties to The Walt Disney Company.
They also do not exist in the Star Wars canon in the post-Lucas era. There are Force-wielders like Ahsoka Tano and Maul, former members of the Jedi and Sith Orders, respectively. There are also the fugitive Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus and his Padawan Ezra Bridger, plus the Bendu. And, of course, there are non-Sith Dark Siders such as Kylo Ren, the Inquisitors (which, I believe, were invented for the old Expanded Universe but made canonical by Star Wars Rebels), and Supreme Leader Snoke. But there are no Grey Jedi.
Grey Jedi are figments of the imagination created by some Star Wars fans who write fan-fiction. It’s a hamfisted attempt to create heroes (rogue Jedi, really) who are basically good characters but use the Dark Side of the Force to achieve their ends.
The Grey Jedi proponents even argue that Qui-Gon Jinn is a Grey Jedi because he constantly butts heads with the more tradition-bound members of the Jedi Council.
Nonsense. Qui-Gon was a maverick, to be sure. But his main source of conflict with the Jedi Masters was that he tended to follow his instincts and the ways of the “living Force,” while Yoda, Mace Windu, and even Qui-Gon’s former master, Dooku, were adherents of the “Cosmic Force” school of thought.
And don’t get me started about “vaapad” (or Form VII) and Mace’s aggressive style of fighting with lightsabers. Skating close to the Dark Side but not embracing it during a fight is a concept that only appears in novels, but not in the films or TV series. In any case, even those authors who use vaapad as an embellishment to their stories don’t ascribe to the Grey Jedi concept.
In short, most fans simply dismiss the idea of Grey Jedi as nonsense.

In June of 1963, five months before the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Warner Bros. released director Leslie Martinson’s  PT-109 , an adaptation of Robert J. Donovan’s non-fiction book  PT-109: John F. Kennedy in World War II.   Starring Cliff Robertson ( Charly, Spider-Man ) as Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) John F.
