A Note from the Associate Producer: Update on the GoFundMe Campaign for the New Movie

A screenshot of our GoFundMe page.

Hello, everybody. I just want to update you on the status of our new film, which doesn't have a title yet, so we refer to it as Untitled Sequel to Ronnie and the Pursuit of the Elusive Bliss.

As you know, this time the folks at Popcorn Sky in New York City want to make a true feature-length film, with multiple locations, a larger cast, and a story with a running time of around 90 minutes.

This, of course, is a far more ambitious project than our previous ones. So far, we've managed to do four films of varying lengths with minimal budgets and small casts; the ones I've written on my own - at least as far as first drafts go - have two, three characters at most.  The film to which I contributed the least -El Grande de Corona - has a cast of five:

  • Juan Carlos Hernandez
  • Adria K. Woomer-Hernandez
  • Steve Arons
  • Matthew Martin Ward
  • Natalie Hernandez
Clearly, we're not quite ready to compete with Cecil B. DeMille in size of cast or scope of story.

But we do want to, shall we say, spread our wings and tell a story with more actors, more locations, and better production values.

And, of course, this means that we have to have funds for a budget, which Juan and Adria have estimated to be, at minimum, $50,000.

Hence, the GoFundMe.

Per our last update, which was posted yesterday, here's where we stood last night:

Thanks to your generosity, we have raised $359.00 so far. Writing the script should commence soon, since we need to have the blueprint before we can start construction on our "building." (Scripts are like blueprints, and movies are like buildings.)

Thanks. And if you know anyone else who might want to donate, feel free to spread the word.

Today, my friend Patti Aliventi donated $100, thus bringing the grand total to $459.00.

Of course, we still need $49,541 to reach our minimum goal.

And that's where you come in.

If you want to see our first feature film produced and released, then you should think about becoming a donor to the campaign. It doesn't have to be a $100 contribution; we all know that these are tough, scary times for everyone. If you can spare $10, even $5 for our movie, it surely will be appreciated!

And if you can't donate, you can still help by letting others know about the campaign. Just copy this link (https://gofund.me/86634e1b) and pass it on to fans of original independent movies.

Thank you. And we look forward to sending copies of the finished product to all of our contributors.
