Album Review: 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'

On December 18, 2015, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures released Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh live-action film in the long-running series created by George Lucas and the first of three films that comprise the Sequel Trilogy. This first Star Wars movie since 2005's Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac, The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events depicted in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The film was a huge success at the box office (earning $2.068 billion world-wide, which makes The Force Awakens the third biggest earner in movie history) and introduced a new set of heroes (the Resistance) and villains (the First Order) locked in the conflict between good and evil in a galaxy far, far away. Album Review: 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'

On Friday, December 15, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures released Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eighth Episode in the Skywalker Saga and the ninth live-action film in the space-fantasy franchise created 40 years ago by George Lucas.  Starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Laura Dern, and Andy Serkis, The Last Jedi is the second film of a Sequel Trilogy set 30 years after the Rebel Alliance's victory over the evil Galactic Empire. Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection CD box set review

(LFL) Sony Classical’s “Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection” is the music label’s third box set (after its 2004 DVD Companion collection and 2007’s “The Music of Star Wars: 30th Anniversary Collector’s Edition”) of music composed and conducted by  John Williams . Released in January to coincide with the theatrical run of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars – Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” this limited edition box set marks the first time that all six  soundtracks  from the Original and Prequel trilogies are released together. The Disney-owned official Star Wars website first announced the release of “Star Wars: The Ultimate Soundtrack Collection” in its September 25, 2015 post.
