 Hi, there, Dear Reader. It's Monday, January 10, 2022, and finally, after two months of not posting anything in A Certain Point of View, I am back with a new - if perhaps brief - post. 

I am happy to report that I got my Moderna (Spikevax) vaccine. I received my first shot in mid-November, and I got my second one just a few days before Christmas, I have not gone out anywhere since the second Fauci Ouchie, mainly because I don't go out much anyway, and the woman who used to take me places - doesn't do it anymore. I missed seeing Steven Spielberg's West Side Story because of this, and since there's no easy way for me to go to the nearest theater on my own, I'm resigned to having to wait till the film hits the home media market. 

Anyway, I've been busy over on WordPress with our sister blog A Certain Point of View, Too. I write at least one post a day there, and currently, I am on a streak that is, as of today, 550 days long and still going. ACPOVT (or, if you prefer, ACPOV2) is essentially the same kind of blog as this one, with the same mix of content as the Blogger version - only it's not banned on Facebook. 

Today, for instance, I wrote a review of Star Wars The Black Series: Luke Skywalker (Hoth), the latest addition to my collection. And today I noticed that a discussion about a mission in Cold Waters got two pageviews even though it's from last September. Given my ruthers, I wish that Facebook would lift the ban on this blog so I did not need to have ACPOV2, but paradoxically I have more followers and feedback from readers there than I do here. Yes, this blog has been around longer, I admit. And it has earned more ad revenue (because of its longevity). 

But having been banned from Meta's Social Network has had a chilling effect, and Facebook will not lift the ban, so....I devote most of my blogging time to WordPress. Besides, it's nice to have nearly 500 followers there, while here I only have...24. 

Anyway, I hope I won't take another two months' long break from posting here. So as the Terminator says in the eponymous movie from 1984: "I'll be back."

Movie Review: 'PT-109'

In June of 1963, five months before the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Warner Bros. released director Leslie Martinson’s  PT-109 , an adaptation of Robert J. Donovan’s non-fiction book  PT-109: John F. Kennedy in World War II.   Starring Cliff Robertson ( Charly, Spider-Man ) as Navy Lieutenant (junior grade) John F. Kennedy and co-starring Ty Hardin, James Gregory, Robert Culp, Robert Blake, Norman Fell and even an uncredited George Takei (Hikaru Sulu of  Star Trek: The Original Series ), the film is a fairly accurate depiction of JFK’s naval service in the South Pacific as the commander of a motor torpedo boat given the Navy pennant number PT-109 (the PT standing for the Navy ship designator “Patrol Torpedo”).  Although Hollywood had made movies in which former Presidents (either living or dead) were depicted, producer Bryan Foy, under the direct guidance of Warner Bros.' head of production Jack Warner (who, in turn, was influenced by Joseph P.
